摘要

Arrhythmia is the abnormality in regularity or rate of cardiac impulse varying the normal rhythm of heart. Generally, it can be divided into supraventricular arrhythmias and ventricular arrhythmias and occurs by the formation and propagation of an abnormal cardiac impulse. Antiarrhythmic drugs of class I, II, III, IV, V, VI, and VII can be used in the treatment of arrhythmia depending on the type concerned. The developing countries around the world experience problems in the management of arrhythmias due to availability of limited resources and lack of telecommunication. Unavailability of antiarrhythmic drugs, lack of political will, and instruments for accurate diagnosis also lead to poor management of this disease in developing countries. This chapter describes different diagnosis and treatment barriers in such countries and methods to overcome these barriers.
