Laboratory Medicine Research in Developing Countries
摘要
Laboratory medicine research plays a critical role in improving healthcare outcomes and addressing local health challenges in developing countries. However, several barriers and challenges hinder the progress and impact of laboratory medicine research in these settings. This chapter provides an overview of the current status, achievements, facilitators, barriers, and challenges of laboratory medicine research in developing countries. It highlights the importance of funding, infrastructure, human resources, research ethics, collaboration, and research translation. Furthermore, it presents recommendations to enhance laboratory medicine research in developing countries, including increased funding, capacity building, collaborations, research ethics, and policy advocacy. Implementing these recommendations can foster a vibrant research ecosystem, empower local researchers, and contribute to better health outcomes for the population.
