Epilepsy, a neurological disorder characterized by recurrent seizures, presents significant challenges in developing countries due to limited resources, inadequate healthcare infrastructure, and cultural misconceptions. This chapter explores the prevalence, morbidity, and mortality of epilepsy in developing countries, along with its clinical, economic, and humanistic burdens. It examines causes, risk factors, complications, clinical presentation, diagnosis, and management strategies. Recommendations encompass guidelines, educational resources, and suggestions for improving epilepsy management in these regions. Key areas include education and awareness, accessible healthcare, community engagement, telemedicine, research, international collaboration, policy advocacy, and patient-centered care. This chapter underscores the importance of a holistic approach to address the unique challenges of epilepsy management in developing countries, promoting social justice, equity, and human rights.
