Medical and health sciences are broad fields that encompass a wide range of topics, including basic and applied research, clinical practice, public health, and health policy. Research in medical and health sciences aims to improve the understanding, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases and health conditions, as well as to promote health and well-being for individuals and populations. Selecting a research topic is an essential aspect of the research process, and it is important for several reasons. This chapter aims to describe the appropriateness of research topics in medical and health sciences education and practice. Moreover, it covers the importance of selecting the appropriate topics, facilitators, barriers, and recommendations for the best practice.
