Patient education and counseling play a vital role in improving healthcare outcomes and empowering individuals to actively participate in their own care. However, the quality of patient education and counseling in developing countries faces several challenges. This chapter discussed the current status, achievements, challenges, and recommendations to enhance the quality of patient education and counseling in developing countries. Key findings from research highlight the importance of addressing limited resources, health literacy levels, language and cultural barriers, training needs, and access to information and technology. Recommendations include strengthening healthcare infrastructure, developing culturally appropriate materials, enhancing training programs, utilizing technology, promoting community engagement, and advocating for policy changes. These recommendations aim to address the challenges and further improve the quality of patient education and counseling in developing countries, leading to better health outcomes and patient empowerment.
