Quality of Community Pharmacies Services in Developing Countries: Status and Future Recommendations
摘要
The quality of community pharmacy services in developing countries is vital for ensuring optimal healthcare delivery. This chapter explores the current status, achievements, challenges, and recommendations for improving the quality of community pharmacy services in these regions. Despite significant achievements, such as increased access to medications and expanded roles of pharmacists, several challenges hinder service quality, including limited resources, staffing issues, medication availability, and regulatory challenges. Additionally, health disparities, cultural barriers, and limited access to technology further impact service delivery. To enhance the quality of community pharmacy services, recommendations include strengthening regulatory frameworks, improving medication access, investing in infrastructure and technology, enhancing education and training, promoting interprofessional collaboration, and implementing medication therapy management programs. Addressing challenges related to health disparities, vulnerable populations, and financial sustainability is also crucial. Furthermore, fostering a culture of continuous quality improvement, engaging in research, and collaborating with international partners are important for driving positive change.
