Cancer: Risk Factors in Developing Countries

  • Yaser Mohammed Al-Worafi

摘要

Cancer is a significant health burden in developing countries, where the causes and risk factors can vary due to unique environmental, socioeconomic, and cultural factors. Understanding and addressing these causes and risk factors is essential for effective cancer prevention and control efforts. This chapter provides an overview of the causes and risk factors of cancer in developing countries, including infectious agents, environmental exposures, lifestyle factors, limited access to healthcare, and genetic factors. It also offers recommendations to overcome these challenges, such as strengthening prevention efforts, improving access to screening and treatment, enhancing healthcare systems, fostering research collaborations, and empowering communities. By implementing these recommendations, developing countries can make progress in reducing the burden of cancer and improving outcomes for their populations.
