  • Yaser Mohammed Al-Worafi

摘要

This chapter discussed the causes and risk factors associated with diabetes mellitus in developing countries. Diabetes mellitus is a growing health concern in these regions, driven by various factors such as rapid urbanization, limited healthcare resources, infectious diseases, and socioeconomic disparities. Maternal and child health factors, environmental challenges, migration, and cultural practices also contribute to the burden of diabetes. Understanding these causes and risk factors is vital for developing targeted interventions and policies to prevent, detect, and manage diabetes in developing countries.
