Hygiene in Developing Countries: Challenges and Recommendations

  • Yaser Mohammed Al-Worafi

摘要

Hygiene plays a vital role in public health, and while developed countries generally have higher hygiene standards, developing countries face significant challenges in promoting and maintaining good hygiene practices. This chapter discussed the challenges and recommendations for hygiene promotion in developing countries. Limited access to clean water, inadequate sanitation facilities, poor waste management, low awareness, and gender disparities are among the challenges faced. Recommendations include ensuring access to clean water and sanitation, promoting hygiene education, strengthening health systems, fostering community participation, and addressing gender inequalities. Collaboration, sustainable policies, research, innovation, and technology are also crucial in overcoming these challenges and improving hygiene practices in developing countries.
