Acid-Base Disorders
摘要
Acid-base disorders represent a significant health challenge, particularly in developing countries where resource constraints and limited access to healthcare services pose formidable obstacles. This chapter outlines the recommendations for preventing, assessing, diagnosing, and managing acid-base disorders in such regions. The prevention strategies emphasize public health education, primary prevention measures, maternal and child health programs, and improved access to clean water and sanitation. These initiatives aim to reduce the incidence of conditions that lead to acid-base imbalances. In the realm of assessment and diagnosis, the focus is on point-of-care testing, clinical training, telemedicine, and the development of clinical algorithms. These tools and approaches are designed to facilitate early recognition and diagnosis of acid-base disorders, even in resource-limited settings. For the management of acid-base disorders, recommendations span standardized treatment protocols, medication access, nutritional support, and the empowerment of community health workers. These interventions aim to ensure that patients receive timely and effective care, whether in healthcare facilities or at home. Furthermore, this chapter underscores the importance of interdisciplinary teams, emergency response training, patient education, research, and overall health system strengthening. Collaboration, both domestically and internationally, is identified as a pivotal element in addressing these challenges effectively.
