  • Yaser Mohammed Al-Worafi

摘要

Telehealth and telemedicine have the potential to revolutionize healthcare delivery in developing countries. This chapter explores the rationality and importance of telehealth and telemedicine, highlighting their ability to improve access to healthcare, enhance maternal and child health, manage infectious diseases, strengthen primary healthcare, and support emergency response. However, several challenges hinder their implementation, including limited infrastructure, access to technology, health literacy barriers, and regulatory issues. This chapter provides recommendations to address these challenges, such as infrastructure development, capacity building, cultural sensitivity, and regulatory support. Furthermore, this chapter emphasizes the need for partnerships, research, and continuous evaluation to ensure the successful implementation and sustainability of telehealth in developing countries. Ultimately, the adoption of telehealth holds the promise of transforming healthcare, bridging the healthcare access gap, and improving health outcomes in developing countries.
