Generic Medicines’ Knowledge, Attitude, Practice, and Acceptance by Patients and Healthcare Professionals
摘要
The knowledge, attitude, practice, and acceptance of generic medicines are vital aspects influencing their utilization and effectiveness in healthcare. Generic medicines offer affordable and accessible treatment options, promote competition, and improve patient access to essential medications. Educating patients and healthcare professionals through targeted campaigns and training programs can enhance knowledge and dispel misconceptions. Fostering positive attitudes involves addressing cultural beliefs, providing evidence-based information, and building trust in regulatory frameworks. Encouraging appropriate practices includes implementing electronic prescribing systems, professional training, and incentives to promote the consideration and utilization of generic medicines. Acceptance can be further encouraged through research, evidence generation, and policy support. By implementing recommendations such as education, awareness campaigns, regulatory support, collaboration, and policy interventions, stakeholders can contribute to enhancing knowledge, fostering positive attitudes, promoting appropriate practices, and increasing acceptance of generic medicines. These efforts ultimately lead to cost-effective healthcare, improved patient access, and better health outcomes for individuals and healthcare systems as a whole.
