Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) in Developing Countries

Complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) practices are prevalent in developing countries and can provide an accessible and affordable form of health care for many people. However, there are also many challenges associated with the use of CAM in these settings, including limited regulation and oversight, safety concerns, limited research, lack of integration with Western medicine, stigma, and lack of training and resources. By addressing these challenges and promoting best practices, healthcare providers, policymakers, and researchers can help to ensure that patients in developing countries receive safe, effective, and culturally appropriate CAM services. This can help to promote patient-centered care, reduce health disparities, and improve health outcomes for people in these settings. A comprehensive approach to the use of CAM in developing countries is necessary to address the challenges associated with CAM practices and to promote the integration of CAM into healthcare systems.
