Sports Medicine in Developing Countries

  • Yaser Mohammed Al-Worafi

摘要

Sports medicine in developing countries faces unique challenges and opportunities. This chapter discussed the achievements, quality, challenges, and recommendations for enhancing sports medicine practices in these contexts. Despite resource constraints, progress has been made in raising awareness, establishing training programs, and developing infrastructure. However, the quality and accessibility of sports medicine services need improvement. Challenges include limited resources, inadequate training, access barriers, cultural factors, and public perception. Recommendations include investing in resources, education and training, public-private partnerships, community engagement, research, policy development, and collaborative partnerships. Implementing these recommendations can strengthen sports medicine in developing countries, leading to improved athlete care, safety, and performance.
