Dental Care in Developing Countries: Achievements and Challenges
摘要
Dental care in developing countries presents unique challenges and opportunities. Limited access to care, infrastructure gaps, and economic constraints are among the obstacles faced. Nevertheless, notable achievements have been made in raising awareness, expanding access, and implementing community-based programs. This chapter reviews the achievements, quality of care, challenges, and recommendations for dental care in developing countries. It highlights the need for strengthening primary healthcare integration, enhancing workforce capacity, prioritizing prevention, and advocating for policy changes. Collaboration with NGOs, international organizations, and the dental industry, along with research and monitoring efforts, are key to improving dental care in these contexts.
