Antibiotics Resistant in the Developing Countries
摘要
Antibiotic resistance is a pressing concern in developing countries, with significant implications for healthcare delivery, economic development, and public health. This chapter explores the prevalence, reasons, interventions, strategies, challenges, and recommendations related to antibiotic resistance in developing countries. The prevalence of resistance is influenced by factors such as inappropriate antibiotic use, limited access to quality healthcare, poor infection prevention and control, substandard antibiotics, and limited diagnostic capacity. Interventions encompass antimicrobial stewardship programs, enhanced infection prevention and control, improved diagnostics, education and awareness campaigns, collaboration with the private sector, and research and development efforts. However, challenges such as limited resources, weak regulatory systems, socioeconomic factors, and fragmented surveillance systems need to be addressed. Recommendations include strengthening healthcare systems, promoting research collaboration, enhancing regulatory frameworks, and fostering international cooperation. By implementing these strategies, developing countries can combat antibiotic resistance effectively, protect public health, and ensure the continued effectiveness of antibiotics.
