Antibiotics Use in the Developing Countries

  • Yaser Mohammed Al-Worafi

摘要

The appropriate use of antibiotics in developing countries poses unique challenges due to factors such as limited access to healthcare, inadequate regulatory control, cultural practices, and low awareness about antibiotic resistance. This chapter examines the issues surrounding antibiotic use in these settings, including the quality of antibiotics, self-use, challenges in healthcare infrastructure, and the need for education and awareness. Recommendations are provided to promote responsible antibiotic use, including strengthening regulatory control, enhancing healthcare infrastructure, educating healthcare providers and the public, implementing antibiotic stewardship programs, fostering collaboration and research, and emphasizing infection prevention and control. By implementing these recommendations, developing countries can strive towards improving the appropriate use of antibiotics, mitigating antibiotic resistance, and promoting better health outcomes.
