  • Yaser Mohammed Al-Worafi

摘要

Pharmacovigilance is of utmost importance in developing countries to ensure the safety of medicines and protect public health. This chapter discusses the achievements, quality aspects, challenges, and recommendations related to pharmacovigilance in developing countries. Significant achievements have been made in establishing national pharmacovigilance centers, increasing adverse event reporting, and engaging in international collaborations. However, challenges exist in ensuring data quality, addressing underreporting, and monitoring the safety of herbal and traditional medicines. Recommendations include strengthening regulatory frameworks, capacity building, integrating pharmacovigilance into healthcare systems, embracing technology, promoting public awareness, and ensuring sustainable funding. By implementing these recommendations, developing countries can enhance patient safety and contribute to global drug safety efforts.
