Pharmaceutical Care

Pharmaceutical care, a patient-centered approach to medication therapy management, holds significant importance in developing countries. This chapter highlights the achievements, challenges, and recommendations related to pharmaceutical care in these settings. Achievements include improved access to medications, enhanced medication adherence, and effective chronic disease management. However, challenges such as limited resources, healthcare infrastructure constraints, and socioeconomic factors pose barriers to delivering quality pharmaceutical care. Recommendations include strengthening healthcare systems, promoting interprofessional collaboration, leveraging technology, addressing socioeconomic factors, and investing in capacity building. By implementing these recommendations, developing countries can overcome challenges and improve patient outcomes through pharmaceutical care.
