Patient Engagement in Healthcare in Developing Countries
摘要
Patient engagement in healthcare is increasingly recognized as a vital component of healthcare delivery in developing countries. This chapter provides an overview of patient engagement in these contexts, highlighting achievements, quality considerations, challenges, and recommendations. Achievements include increased awareness, empowering patient education, improved patient-provider communication, and the use of technology. However, challenges such as limited resources, health inequities, and language barriers persist. Recommendations encompass policy support, training and capacity building, community engagement, technology adoption, and research and evaluation. By implementing these strategies, developing countries can foster patient-centered care, enhance health outcomes, and reduce disparities in healthcare delivery.
