Dispensing of Medications Practice in Developing Countries

The dispensing of medications in developing countries presents unique challenges and opportunities. This chapter discussed the achievements, quality concerns, challenges, and recommendations in medication dispensing practices. Achievements include increased access to medications, strengthened pharmacist workforce, improved quality control, and the integration of traditional medicine. Quality challenges involve limited resources, regulatory weaknesses, and inadequate training. Recommendations include strengthening regulatory frameworks, enhancing training and education, utilizing technology, and fostering collaborations. Implementing these recommendations can lead to improved medication safety, access, and rational use, thereby enhancing healthcare outcomes in developing countries.
