Patient Care Related Issues in the Developing Countries: Management Interventions

Disease treatment and management in developing countries face unique challenges due to resource constraints, limited access to specialized care, and healthcare workforce shortages. This chapter explores the achievements, quality, challenges, and recommendations for disease treatment and management in developing countries. While progress has been made in expanding access to essential medications, implementing community-based interventions, and targeting specific diseases, disparities in quality of care remain. Resource constraints, infrastructure limitations, and healthcare workforce shortages pose significant challenges. To address these challenges, recommendations include strengthening primary healthcare, increasing investment in healthcare, fostering partnerships and collaboration, addressing social determinants of health, enhancing health workforce capacity, tailoring interventions to local contexts, strengthening health systems governance, promoting health literacy, and fostering international cooperation. Implementing these recommendations can lead to improved access to treatment, enhanced quality of care, and reduced disease burden in developing countries.
