Healthcare Facilities in Developing Countries: Economics-Related Issues

Healthcare facilities in developing countries face numerous economics-related challenges that hinder their ability to provide accessible and quality care. This chapter summarizes the key issues and research findings in this domain. Insufficient funding, limited access to resources, workforce shortages, high out-of-pocket expenses, and infrastructure gaps are among the primary challenges faced by these facilities. Research highlights the importance of addressing these issues through strategies such as increased funding, expanded health insurance coverage, investment in infrastructure and workforce, and cost-effective interventions.
