  • Yaser Mohammed Al-Worafi

摘要

Teaching pharmacy programs during pandemics in developing countries presents a unique set of challenges and opportunities. This chapter examines the achievements, challenges, and recommendations for enhancing pharmacy education in the context of public health crises. Achievements include the rapid adoption of digital tools, innovative pedagogical approaches, community engagement, and the cultivation of mental health support systems. However, numerous challenges emerged, including the digital divide, limited practical training, mental health concerns, and economic strains. To address these challenges and strengthen pharmacy education, recommendations encompass infrastructure investments, faculty development, curriculum redesign, quality assurance, student support, interdisciplinary collaboration, and global engagement. Furthermore, a focus on community engagement, innovation, and long-term planning is essential. Implementing these recommendations will enhance the resilience and adaptability of pharmacy education systems in developing countries, ensuring that they continue to provide high-quality instruction during pandemics and beyond.
