Burnout: Medical and Health Sciences Educators
摘要
Burnout among medical and health sciences educators in developing countries is a pressing concern. This chapter discussed the prevalence, contributing factors, and a comprehensive set of recommendations for prevention and management. Educators in these resource-constrained settings face unique challenges, including heavy workloads, clinical demands, limited professional development, and societal pressures. To address burnout effectively, a multifaceted approach is essential. Recommendations encompass resource allocation, workload management, professional development, mental health support, advocacy, collaboration, and adaptability. Educator well-being is crucial for healthcare education quality and the overall healthcare system’s effectiveness. Stakeholders must work collaboratively to foster a culture of support, resilience, and continuous improvement in healthcare education. Sustainable efforts will empower educators to provide high-quality education, contribute to healthcare improvements, and positively impact their communities.
