Faculty Members/Lecturer’s Promotion in Dentistry Schools in Developing Countries

  • Yaser Mohammed Al-Worafi

摘要

Faculty members and lecturers in dentistry schools in developing countries face a multitude of challenges in their pursuit of promotion. These challenges include limited resources, bureaucratic hurdles, and disparities in recognition. However, this chapter provides a comprehensive set of recommendations to empower dental educators in developing nations. These recommendations encompass areas such as research support, mentorship programs, language proficiency, and collaboration with NGOs. By implementing these strategies, institutions and stakeholders can create an environment that nurtures talent, encourages innovation, and promotes inclusivity. The promotion of faculty members in these regions is not only a recognition of individual achievements but also an investment in the future of oral healthcare. These educators play a pivotal role in producing skilled dental professionals, conducting research to address local healthcare needs, and advocating for policies that improve oral health outcomes. By recognizing the importance of faculty development and providing necessary support, dental schools, governments, and international organizations contribute to improved oral health, enhanced healthcare infrastructure, and the empowerment of dental educators who serve as catalysts for positive change in their regions.
