Nursing Education Competencies in Developing Countries

Nursing schools around the developing countries adopted the programs learning outcomes and competencies from the international recommendations in addition to the recommendations of the local and international accreditation agencies in order to graduate students with the necessary knowledge and skills to be competent in the healthcare system and able to provide the most effective patient care services based on the evidence-based medicine, competencies, and learning outcomes that were developed and updated based on the development and improvement of patient care practice This chapter includes the history of medical education competencies. It also describes the principles of competency-based education. Moreover, this chapter has described the international competencies and learning outcomes of nursing education.
