Follow-Up of Right Ventricular Function After Acute Pulmonary Embolism
摘要
While much of the focus of the care of pulmonary embolism centers on acute changes to the right ventricle, pulmonary embolism survivors may have long-term sequalae. Persistent right ventricular dysfunction should be considered in patients with ongoing symptoms. This dysfunction can be secondary to chronic PE or other comorbidities. Transthoracic echocardiogram is the standard test used to assess right ventricle function although other tests also have a role in evaluation.
