Entrepreneurship Education and the University: Some Key Trends and Themes
摘要
Shifting understandings of what is meant by the term “entrepreneurship” have rendered it less easily definable and more difficult to categorize. However, as this entry suggests, the increased slipperiness of the term may in fact herald positive developments in the study of the phenomenon it signifies. These developments take the form of a broadening of scope, a deepening of the concept, and a movement away from traditional and narrow ideas about what constitutes the performance of entrepreneurship. Consequently, as our perception of what entrepreneurship is or should be grows in complexity, we are challenged to adopt new modes of thinking about it and of addressing issues associated with it. This entry considers some significant ways in which shifting understandings and perceptions of entrepreneurship have been reflected in the literature on entrepreneurship education at university level.
