There is a paucity of research that addresses sexual violence against Latino and/or Black male sexual assault survivors in the United States. While attention toward sexual violence against men in the United States first commenced in the 1970s, a few policy protections exist for male sexual assault survivors in the United States and even less that account for the role of racism and homophobia on the reporting process and health care for these men. A lack of policy protections for gay Black and/or Latino male sexual assault survivors, negatively affects mental health outcomes for these men. We recommend clear adapted national policies for Black and/or Latino gay male sexual assault survivors in order for them to receive the care they deserve and need.
