Climate Smart Agriculture Adoption in Zimbabwe: Conjectural Insights into Ease of Adoption
摘要
This study explores the adoption of CSA in Zimbabwe. This study advances the argument that climate change has had impacts on livelihoods. CSA has been found to be the solution towards the recovery of agrarian-backed economies in developing countries. The study is premised on the grounds that CSA as a concept can alleviate masses from poverty and help eradicate global food insecurity. CSA can feed the poor communities or even help these communities develop sustainable agricultural practices. The study is housed in the qualitative research paradigm with a bias towards an exploratory research design. The data were collected using the analysis of the secondary data, and thematic data analysis was used in this study. The study arrived at the findings that the use of several farming mechanisms and the growing of the drought-resistant grains and soil conservation have been the practices of CSA. The study concludes that there is a lack of monitoring of the government initiatives in Zimbabwe as there is no follow-up on the implanted initiatives. The study concludes that Zimbabwe needs to fully mainstream the CSA into marginalized areas. The study directs future studies to focus on CSA and gender inequality.
