Fibular collateral ligament injuries rarely manifest in isolation, often coexisting with cruciate ligament issues. A comprehensive understanding of the intricacies of the posterolateral corner and its adjacent structures is imperative for an accurate diagnosis. Clinicians must prioritize thorough clinical examination to exclude the possibility of concomitant ligament damage. Varus stress radiographs serve as the gold standard for assessing fibular collateral ligament and posterolateral corner injuries, offering a quantifiable means of evaluation. Magnetic resonance imaging is a valuable tool, aiding in the precise localization and assessment of the injury’s extent. For the surgical treatment for fibular collateral ligament injuries, anatomic reconstruction emerges as the gold standard approach because it not only reinstates the native knee’s kinematics and stability but also permits patients to engage on immediate postoperative rehabilitation. Rehabilitation should start promptly and emphasize on the restoration of range of motion and quadriceps activation. By employing the appropriate diagnostic methodologies, validated surgical techniques, and initiating early postoperative rehabilitation, patients can achieve optimal outcomes following fibular collateral ligament injuries.
