Posterior Impingement of the Elbow in Athletes
摘要
Posterior impingements are most commonly seen in athletes involved in overhead-throwing sports. It is also reported in boxing and lifting heavy objects. The whole kinetic chain involved in the sport of the athlete causing the symptoms should be examined. Only if nonsurgical treatment is unsuccessful does surgery needs to be considered. Arthroscopy is the standard choice of surgical treatment and results in the resolution of the pain and loss of function related to posterior impingement. Complication and reoperation rates are low after treatment. Most athletes are possible to return to their previous level of sports.
