The efficacy of pharmacological treatments, including bisphosphonates, remains inconclusive. Surgical options, such as core decompression, stem cell therapy, and vascularized bone grafting, are explored, alongside intertrochanteric osteotomy and total hip arthroplasty (THA) for advanced cases. The chapter underscores the need for ongoing research into the pathogenesis of avascular necrosis of the femoral head, as well as early detection, and innovative treatments to optimize outcomes, particularly in younger patients facing hip degeneration.
