Sport After Total Hip Arthroplasty
摘要
Patient expectations after joint replacement are changing, and many people now both expect and look forward to a return to high levels of varied activity after surgery. As hip arthroplasty continues to improve, changes in surgical techniques, implant manufacturing, and materials may increasingly allow this to be done safely. In this chapter, we explore the available evidence for return to sport after hip arthroplasty and how this is affected by current technology as well as examining the changing attitudes of patients and surgeons. We also consider the areas where further evidence is required to optimize the outcomes for our patients looking for a safe route to maximal performance after hip arthroplasty.
