Avulsion fractures around the pelvic ring are typical injuries of adolescence, especially in athletes, whether amateur or professional. Diagnosis comprises anamnesis and detailed physical examination, which should be followed by a radiological evaluation. The treatment of bone avulsions, for the most part, will be conservative. Surgical treatment is reserved for largely displaced avulsed fragment and symptomatic nonunion, painful heterotopic bone growth. In this chapter, we will address the classification of these fractures, their main causes, relevant anatomical and pathophysiological aspects, and the most common treatments.
