Iliopsoas: Impingement and Strain
摘要
Iliopsoas impingement is a relatively new pathological entity, and iliopsoas strain is one the causes of groin pain in athletes gaining more attention in recent times. Unlike the extensively studied internal snapping hip syndrome, little is known about iliopsoas impingement. Same can be said about iliopsoas strain as it gets overshadowed by the more common adductor strain, sports hernia, or osteitis pubis. Lack of specific clinical signs further contribute to underdiagnosis of iliopsoas impingement and strain. The purpose of this chapter is to present a thorough review of both these entities to expand the knowledge of the readers and enable them to understand, diagnose, and treat these successfully in their practice.
