The biological characteristics of the meniscus make meniscal tissue a poorly self-healing element. This reparative limitation makes the preservation of the meniscus and the treatment and recovery of meniscal injuries a challenge for the orthopedic surgeon. The use of orthobiological treatments is a promising tool for the treatment of these injuries as they provide biological stimulation of tissue repair processes. These biologic therapies are highly variable and are primarily divided between blood-derived products and cell-based therapies. It can also be used as a biological augmentation in meniscal surgeries as a conservative treatment. The intention of this chapter is to describe and justify the use of these therapies in meniscal pathology. In addition, different studies and published results are summarized showing the importance of variables related to the product, the application, and the meniscal pathology. Further research and investigation in this field are needed to advance the understanding of these therapies and improve patient outcomes.
