Listening to the Patient
摘要
For over 170 years Psychiatric Evaluation and Treatment have been highly dependent upon a specialized kind of listening to the patient. Despite all the remarkable advances in practice, it still remains a central skill of psychiatric practice. This chapter addresses that skill, its components, clinical examples, obstacles, dimensions, the roles of language, culture, gender, background, theoretical perspective, type of patient, and other aspects that create this crucial clinical ability.
