摘要

Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) is a time-limited (eight-session), group-based clinical intervention primarily intended to reduce depression relapse. Using predominantly a psychoeducational approach, MBCT integrates Western cognitive theory and the Eastern mindfulness philosophy. In this chapter, the history and development of MBCT is described, its core components are highlighted, and the structure of each of the eight sessions is summarized. In addition, evidence for the effectiveness of MBCT, strengths and limitations of the approach, mechanisms of action, potential for cultural adaptation, and the future evolution of the program are discussed.
