Management of Asymmetric Dentofacial Deformities with Digital Planning
摘要
Virtual planning is regarded as the standard of care for the correction of dentofacial deformities. The presence of craniofacial asymmetry frequently increases the complexity of surgical correction placing greater emphasis on treatment planning through surgical simulation. Virtual planning provides tremendous advantage in the management of asymmetric deformities compared to traditional planning methods. The multidimensional nature of the deformity can be readily appreciated, provides preoperative insight into the anatomic repositioning, and aids in improving the efficiency of the intraoperative experience that can lead to the delivery of a sound clinical outcome for patients. This chapter describes the application of virtual planning directed toward the correction of asymmetric dentofacial deformities.
