Clinical Trials in Lung Transplantation

Clinical trials in lung transplantation remain challenging to undertake. The body of literature to date has led to significant progression in the management of lung transplantation. This chapter reviews some of the trials undertaken relating to immunosuppression, infection management, studies in the investigation and management of chronic lung allograft dysfunction, surgical considerations as well as the future directions of lung transplantation research, and key questions that need to be addressed.
