Lung Transplantation for Pulmonary Hypertension
摘要
Pulmonary arterial hypertension is a progressive disease with a fatal prognosis if untreated. Lung transplantation remains the only treatment option in cases where medical therapies fail. This chapter will cover the indications for lung transplantation, the optimal time of listing and surgical considerations before, during, and after the transplantation. Also, the importance of intraoperative extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) and prophylactic postoperative ECMO prolongation is discussed.
