Baker, Margaret
摘要
Margaret Baker (c. 1610–c. 1675) created three remarkable recipe books that record medicinal, alchemical, and culinary recipes. Her books provide insight into the intellectual life of a well-educated, single woman, with hints of her reading practices, medical expertise, alchemical interests, and familial and social networks. It is rare for an early modern woman’s intellectual world to be so visible beyond publication or widely circulated.
