Lady Jane Grey (c. 1537–1553), Lady Katherine Grey (1540–1568), and Lady Mary Grey (1545–1578) were heirs to the English crown through the contested will of Edward VI. Raised in the reformed faith, the highly educated great-nieces of Henry VIII were owners, receivers, and producers of books, texts, and manuscripts within a radical religio-political network of textual producers who opposed the Henrician, Marian, and Elizabethan religious settlements. Encompassing books, a play text, and manuscripts dating from 1530 to 1577, the bookscapes of the Greys and their kinship networks illuminate the intellectual culture which sought to make these sisters defenders of the faith.
