Grymeston, Elizabeth
摘要
Elizabeth Gryemeston (née Bernye) (b. 1563) was the author of Miscelanea: Prayers, Meditations, Memoratives (1604), one of the earliest printed English examples of a mother’s legacy. Grymeston’s text, published posthumously, reflects her maternal care and concern for her son, Bernye, as well as her wide-ranging reading and methods of textual production. It may also reflect Elizabethan Catholicism.
