Wight, Sarah

Sarah Wight (b. c. 1631) was a religious writer and prophet during the English Civil Wars and Interregnum in England. The narrative of her dramatic conversion at the age of sixteen became highly popular in print throughout the seventeenth century. Her writing demonstrates a high degree of biblical literacy and a confident sense of her calling as God’s “handmaid” and “anointed one.”
