Digby, Elizabeth
摘要
Elizabeth Digby (née Altham; later Astley, Bernard) (c. 1601–1662) was an English gentlewoman who compiled a manuscript recipe book currently held in the British Library (Egerton MS 2197). The book bears witness to Digby’s reading and remediation of medical material from professional and lay, male and female sources, placing Digby in the larger nexus of women household managers and medical practitioners in early modern England.
