CNC Milling

Any machine digitally controlled by a computer is by definition a “computer numerically controlled” (CNC) machine. Machines connected to a computer have computer numerical control and are therefore CNC machines. However, when people refer to a CNC milling machine, they often say a CNC machine, as though they were the same. Including the word “milling” identifies the process that involves the cutting of material with a rotating tool. Using the correct term helps you sound knowledgeable and professional.
