Origin of Machines

“The machine has no soul, but it has a purpose,” Arthur C Clark aptly noted in his book Profiles of the Future in 1962. Or a more dramatically worded version such as, “The machine is a reflection of our own desires and fears. It is a tool that we can use to create a better world, or to destroy it.” By Isaac Asimov in his novel, I, Robot in 1950, try to describe the role of machines in our lives. Since their invention, machines have become an integral part of human life. Machines give humans superpowers; machines enable humans to do things that they can imagine but cannot make real. It is the single most important human invention that truly separated them from all the other species on Earth. No other species other than humans can create and use machines!
